"REDiSat is designed to reestablish mission-critical voice and data services by combining the power and dependability of the SES satellite fleet with our world-class terrestrial facilities," reports Robert Phelan, Senior Vice President, Market and Business Solutions, for SES AMERICOM.
1. Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). At a minimum, the CPE shall include the following equipment items:
- One iDirect Infinity 3100 Modem;
- One 2W Ku-band Block Up Converter (BUC);
- One Ku-band Low Noise Block (LNB);
- One 1.2M Ku-band Antenna.
2. Installation and Activation Service. For each Site provisioned, the Installation and Activation Services shall be limited to the following:
- Installation of the Non-Penetrating Roof Mount at the Site;
- Installation, pointing and commissioning of the Antenna, BUC and LNB at the Site;
- Installation of up to 100’ (feet) of IFL cable from Site’s Antenna to the indoor location of the Site’s modem;
- Installation and activation of the Modem;
- Activation of Site by SES’s Network Management Center.
3. Customer’s Installation Obligations. Customer is responsible, prior to installation of the equipment listed above, for providing:
- Provision required access to the building to SES’s employees and contractors for installation purposes;
- A solid surface for the non-penetrating roof mount (NPRM);
- A location with a clear unobstructed view to the subject satellite (AMC-6 at 72 deg. W.L.);
- Indoor rack space in an environmentally controlled location with cooled conditioned air for the 3100 Modem (IDU);
- Conditioned power, 120VAC, for the Modem;
- Any required Radio Frequency (RF) hazard warnings for remote antenna;
- All site permits and approvals for any electrical, building, and civil works related to this equipment and service shall be the responsibility of Customer’s end user.
4. Router Compatibility. In order to maintain Satellite router compatibility with SES’s Hub system, Customer shall allow Satellite router to accept SES-provided software maintenance. Satellite router software maintenance may require some network downtime, which SES and/or SES’s NMC personnel shall communicate to Customer in advance to the extent practical.
