    Context:

    The Senior Accountant performs month-end closing procedures, general ledger account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation and reporting under the supervision and guidance of the Manager, Accounting.


    EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2-3 years experience in public accounting or corporate accounting department
    • B.S. in Accounting and CPA
    • Knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial reporting
    • Proficiency in Windows applications (i.e. Excel) and knowledge of accounting systems (i.e. SAP, Peoplesoft, Cognos, etc)
    • Good organizational, writing and reporting skills.
    • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
    • Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Month-end closing procedures, including foreign subsidiary accounting and intercompany reconciliations with sister companies in the SES family.
    • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations
    • Maintain responsibility for assigned P&L items, such as payroll or cost of sales
    • Analyze other general ledger accounts as necessary
    • Support interim, half-year, and year-end audits by external auditors
    • Continual process improvement and documentation
    • Assist Manager, Accounting on various ad hoc projects as necessary
