- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years related work experience required
- Background in geosynchronous spacecraft, with emphasis in Propulsion subsystem. Experience with flight software and Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) subsystems and maneuver planning desirable
- Understanding of spacecraft propulsion subsystem components and performance parameters, systems design, trade-off studies, and data analysis techniques
- Working knowledge of spacecraft test methods and functional requirements, verification, and specific knowledge of spacecraft thruster performance and calibration techniques
- Strong computer skills required, especially Microsoft Office
- Experience in satellite design, Integration and Test (I&T) activities, and/or spacecraft operations preferable
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Perform on-orbit trending and analysis of propulsion subsystem
- Investigate on-orbit system and subsystems anomalies, including determination of corrective actions
- Generate and review on-orbit operational procedures and ground system operational limits
- Participate in initial in-orbit checkout and support in-orbit testing
- Develop and maintain software tools for evaluating and trending spacecraft propellant budgets and thruster performance
- Prepare documentation and establish/verify propulsion functional requirements
- Attend spacecraft design reviews and generate/evaluate action items
- Monitor spacecraft I&T, environmental test activities, and launch site activities
- Provide spacecraft system training to engineering and operations personnel
- Travel to vendor sites and SES AMERICOM earth stations
