The Manager, Spacecraft Programs is responsible to manage spacecraft program(s) from inception through launch activities and orbit injection.
- At least fifteen years experience in satellite design, manufacturing & test, system engineering and program management.
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of satellite design, assembly integration & test, cost and schedule trades and program management.
- Strong demonstration of satellite program and engineering leadership.
- Extensive experience with launch vehicles and launch operations.
- Excellent writing and reporting skills.
- Effective communication skills with people at all levels of the organization.
- Good interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Perform as the focal point in Space Systems and Operations of support for new spacecraft programs.
- Provide technical support to Americom’s Business Development, Marketing/Sales, Legal & Sourcing departments and lead proposal efforts in response to customers’ RFQs.
- Lead the design, conformance to requirements and on-going technical evaluation for next generation satellites under consideration.
- Lead the technical negotiations associated with new spacecraft programs.
- Monitor and resolve issues that develop during the spacecraft assembly, integration and test phase.
- Coordinate, convene and follow up the quarterly management meetings between satellite manufacturer and Americom.
- Ensure a proper flow of internal communication between different associates and departments, and make sure that the necessary actions are followed up.
- Perform engineering functions in many of the following satellite technical areas: mechanical, thermal, attitude control, electrical power, payload, CR&T, satellite system and quality engineering including technical review and oversight duties.
- Perform other tasks as requested.
- Sign and approve technical contractual documents for spacecraft program.
