    CONTEXT:

    A Spacecraft Analyst is the primary associate responsible for the on-orbit operation of assigned spacecraft.


    EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5+ Years experience in spacecraft operations or related activity.
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Space Science or Electrical Engineering.
    • Excellent working knowledge of satellite orbital mechanics.
    • Proven knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and spacecraft operations.
    • Excellent interpersonal, management, writing and reporting skills.
    • Effective communication skills with people at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong support of the corporate goals and directives.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Plans, executes and monitors spacecraft maneuvers, orbit determination and long term spacecraft operating strategy.
    • Updates and maintains spacecraft configuration database and coordinates scheduled spacecraft activity.
    • Draft, review and improve spacecraft operational procedures.
    • Gives direction to spacecraft controllers in support of operations activity as required during normal and off-hours for all scheduled and unscheduled events.
    • Provides support of anomaly team investigation activities.
    • Sets criteria and parameters for spacecraft health of all spacecraft subsystems through data trending and evaluation.
    • Ensure proper execution of operational procedures and policies.
    • Monitor spacecraft health by periodic telemetry trending.
    • Update spacecraft parameters and/or flight software as needed to support spacecraft over mission life.
    • On call 24/7 for spacecraft emergency activities.
    • Support new spacecraft procurement by reviewing program requirements, PDR and CDR documents and test results.
    • Interface with spacecraft vendors as needed to support anomaly resolution and routine updates of such items as spacecraft command and telemetry databases, documentation, and patch files.
