    CONTEXT:

    The Spectrum Development Engineer is a direct contributor to the Spectrum Development processes.


    EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum 2 years experience in satellite communications system engineering.
    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; MSEE or MBA preferred.
    • Demonstrated analytical and presentation skills.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the communications industry, technology, markets and services.
    • Team Player --- develop realtionships with internal team and with regulators and agencies
    • Ability to operate in multi-cultural settings
    • Willingness to travel
    • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Identification and development of new orbital locations in support of business objectives utilizing analytical tools.
    • Participate in the development of design concepts for new generation satellites utilizing state of the art technology in support of business initiatives and strategy.
    • Offer/develop new products and concepts in support of various company team efforts which utilize advances in satellite and communications.
    • Represent the interests of SES AMERICOM at technical satellite conferences and forums which include the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) and other national and international organizations.
    • Participate on SES AMERICOM’s team(s) in satellite frequency coordination activities, in meetings with other foreign governments or international satellite carriers to insure the coexistence of SES satellites with other operational satellites.
    • Participate in industry and government working groups on satellite policy and regulatory and spectrum issues
    • Develop and maintain relationships with the Federal Communications Commission, (FCC), Satellite Industry Association, (SIA), the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority and the UK Office of Communications.
    • Provide assistance to SES corporate and its affiliates as requested which includes performing satellite competitive analysis and market studies and other satellite communications related matters.
