    CONTEXT:

    This is a customer-facing technical position supporting proactive alarm management, remote IP service configurations, trouble tracking and reporting, and the overall management of customer services.


    EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of two years of IP networking experience. Minimum of two years of satellite communication technical experience
    • College degree is preferred. Trade school or military training in electronics or communication system.
    • Able to work rotating shift work and be on call 24x7x365 for off-hours emergencies.
    • Customer-centric communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written)
    • SATCOM, broadband, telecommunications, and video technical skills.
    • Sound understanding of IP networking elements and protocols.
    • Sound understanding of VPN Networking Applications.
    • US Citizen or Green Card holder.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Provide engineering and analytical support for Customer and internal network elements.
    • Independently monitor and direct all maintenance activities.
    • Engineering and management of firewall.
    • Partner very closely with customers and all involved parties in assessing issues with data transport systems.
    • Partner with team members to successfully integrate new Nes (network elements) and platform into the SES network.
    • Manage and escalate trouble tickets in support of customer networking applications.
    • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimum level of performance across the network.
